This volume is a compilation of three views of the Charta 77 Foundation: one is by Eva Kantůrková who prior to the great changes of November 1989 played an important part in the human-rights movement; the second is by Květa Jechová, an historian, and the third is by the journalist Antonín Hošťálek who is active in the Foundation. The reader becomes acquainted with the ups and downs of the Foundation, the successes and setbacks of an institution that during the past twenty years of its work has left an important mark on the history of this country in the periods both before November 1989 and after.
