Velkolepá monografie nás vycerpávajícím zpusobem uvádí do dekorativního stylu, v jehož duchu byla vytvorena vetšina produkce užitého umení meziválecného Ceskoslovenska. Uplatnil se v mnoha oblastech, od bytového designu, pres sklo, porcelán, módu, krásnou knihu až treba po plakát. V architekture se po r. 1918 napr. projevil v podobe tzv. rondokubismu, který byl pokusem o vytvorení národního stylu nového státu. Presáhl však i do oblastí volného umení, napríklad ve fotografiích Františka Drtikola ci drobné plastice Jaroslava Horejce. EnglishThe English edition of exuisite monograph serves as an exhaustive introduction to the decorative style in the spirit of which most of the applied art production of the interwar Czechslovakia was created. It found its place in many spheres, from interior design, glass, porcelain, fashion and fine books to e.g. the poster. In architecture it was manifested after 1918 e.g. in the form of so called rondocubism, which was an attempt to create a national style of the new state. It influenced also the spheres of free art, e.g. the photographs by František Drtikol or minor sculptures by Jaroslav Horejc. DeutschDiese großartige Monographie führt den Leser auf eingehende Weise durch den dekorativen Stil der Gebrauchskunst, der in der Zwischenkriegs-Tschechoslowakei tonangebend war. Er kam in vielen Kunstbereichen zum Ausdruck, vom Wohnungsdesign an über Glas, Porzelan, Mode, schöngeistliche Literatur bis zur Plakatgestaltung. Dies erfolgte z. B. in der Architektur in der Form des sogenannten Rondokubismus, der einen Versuch darstellt, einen Nationalstil des neuentstandenen Staats zu schaffen. Dieser Stil beeinflußte jedoch auch die freie Schöpfung, z. B. die Fotografien von František Drtikol oder die Kleinplastik von Jaroslav Horejc. Der Einleitungskapitel der Publikation befaßt sich mit dem damaligen Weltkontext, dann folgen Teile, die den einzelnen Schöpfungsbereichen entsprechen. Selbständige Kapitel werden J. Horejc und der Auswirkung von Art deco auf die Schöpfung der Künstler in den 80. Und 90. Jahren gewidmet. Zum Schluß werden die Autoren vorgestellt, dann folgt noch eine Bibliographie und ein Personenregister.
